HIM 206 Co-op Ed: Employment in Healthcare: HIM Seminar

Students will develop job search tools and skills in preparation for internships and employment in health care including job research, resume writing, applications, and interviewing. Students will learn how to start and keep a job, leave a job with grace, and secure references.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 

1. Student will understand and be able to develop their health care job objectives
2. Student will understand and be able to create a working resume’, cover letter, and job application
3. Student will understand and be able to navigate job search websites and other sources
4. Student will understand and be able to create materials related to leaving a job, i.e. resignations
5. Student will understand the skills and techniques to have a successful job interview
